Adolescent Care
As your child enters adolescence, they face new challenges and experiences. Our adolescent care services are designed to guide both parents and teens through this transformative stage. We provide a safe, supportive environment where your teen can discuss issues like puberty, mental health, peer pressure, and relationships. We also offer preventative care, including vaccinations, sexual health education, and mental health support. Our focus is on fostering open communication with your teen while helping them navigate these important years. Our practice is to start the visit for younger teens with the parent in the room, and then invite the parent to wait in the reception area during the physical exam, if the teen is comfortable with this. A chaperone is available if the teen prefers, with our medical assistant attending in the room as well. For older teens, sometimes the visit will start with just the teen, and then there will be a wrap-up with the parent. We do request that all patients under 18 have a parent or guardian with them for all visits.
