Appointments
There’s a Green box that says "Schedule Appt" near the top of the page. When you click that, it takes you to our scheduling tool. Please schedule 20 or 30 minutes for well visits based on how much time you think you need, and 15 minutes for most sick visits. If a child has been sick with a problem for over a month, you will need 30 minutes for that sick visit as well. You will notice that appointments are only available within the next 1-2 weeks because of our Open Access scheduling policy; see "Scheduling Appointments: Open Access" section. If you just need bloodwork or vaccines, and do not need to see a doctor, please book for the Medical Assistant.
We use a system called Open Access to schedule our appointments: sick visits are made the same day, and well visits are scheduled within one to two weeks. Appointments are not made far in advance, to keep the schedule open for your convenience.
Open Access means you can get an appointment when you need one. It allows us to see you when you need to be seen.
Many people get confused by this. If you look at the schedule on the online portal, you may wonder, “Isn’t Dr. Lieberman working next month?” Yes, she is working next month! But that schedule will open a week or two in advance.
TROUBLE WITH THE PORTAL? Try using an alternate browser. If the right side of the screen is cut off, see raise your screen resolution (choose the highest possible resolution).
You will notice a button at the top of the website that says “patient portal.” That link takes registered patients to an online portal. Any patient of Fairmount Pediatrics may register to receive a password; just send a note via the Contact Page to request a password. Once you have your password, you can log in and use the portal to send secure messages, request referrals and request prescription refills.

Because of HIPPA privacy laws, it is not permissible for a doctor to respond to an email message from a patient. Anyone could hack in and find out your personal health information. However, you can send us messages! Through the portal, you log in to a secure server and leave messages there for our providers to find. They log in several times a day, and respond, leaving their responses on the secure server. The server then automatically sends you an email, through yahoo or gmail or whatever email server you use, directing you to log in to get your response. Please do not send emergency messages via the portal, as our providers only checks it a few times a day. Emergencies should be handled by phone, please. Please Note: that messaging services are only for registered patients who receive their pediatric care at Advocare Fairmount Pediatrics.
Yes, it is okay to call. Please always call for emergencies, unless you are sure you need to go to the Emergency Room of a hospital. If you know you need to go to the ER, you do not need permission from Dr. Lieberman. Do what you think is right for your child, right away, and let Dr. Lieberman know later. Please try to limit non-emergency calls to regular work hours. Please Note: Phone services are only for registered patients who receive their pediatric care at Advocare Fairmount Pediatrics.
We are very sorry, but we cannot see late patients. If you are unable to keep an appointment you have made, we ask that you cancel at least 24 hours in advance so we can offer that time to someone else. Appointments missed without 24 hours advance notice incur a $100 charge.
We hold back time every day for sick visits. So, if you look at the schedule right now for this coming Friday, it probably looks completely booked. But it’s not. About 90 minutes are blocked, and will be opened Thursday evening, to allow sick kids to get in the same day. Every day is treated in this way. If there are no spots left but your child needs to get in, please call the office at 215-774-1166 and we will squeeze you in.
Please schedule the sick appointment with that pediatrician, rather than at Advocare Fairmount Pediatrics. This ensures the best continuity of care for your child. If you wish to transfer all care to Advocare Fairmount Pediatrics, please contact the office to arrange a “meet and greet” visit or to obtain a login and register as a patient.
The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends a regular schedule of visits, and Dr. Lieberman endorses this schedule. Important safety, health, and development topics are covered at each visit, based on the age of the child. Missing a visit will mean missing those topics! If for some reason you do not wish to come to the office at each of the recommended well-visits, please discuss this with Dr. Lieberman before deciding if she should be your child’s pediatrician.
