Psychiatry

School Psychologist
Dr. Brian Gattuso specializes in evaluating learning profiles, social-emotional and behavioral challenges (e.g., ADHD, learning disabilities, autism) and mental giftedness.

School neuropsychological and psychoeducational evaluations are conducted for students who may need reasonable accommodations/modifications (e.g., extra time on tests, reduced course load, note-taking) or special education services (e.g., IEP’s, gifted enrichment activities).

Evaluations are designed to address your unique referral concerns and questions and to provide related recommendations.

Dr. Gattuso earned graduate degrees from Columbia University, Teacher’s College, and Temple University. He has worked with children, adults and families for 20+ years. Over the recent years, Dr. Gattuso works as a School Psychologist for the School District of Philadelphia and runs his private practice with associates to service charter schools, nonprofit agencies and local families. He has been featured on 48 Hours and in the New York Times, had work presented at the Annual Meeting of the Eastern Psychological Association and the New York Academy of Science, completed his dissertation on the effects of inclusion on general education students, and, most recently, been published in the Journal of Behavioral Neuroscience. He is on the board of a local daycare center.

Dr. Gattuso lives with his wife, previously a special education teacher and now a pediatric orthopedic surgeon, and his two young daughters, in the Fairmount/Art Museum section of Philadelphia.
